About Cameron

Born in Dunedin, FL and raised in Kennesaw, GA, I became exposed to music at an early age. My older sister was in chorus throughout elementary, middle, and high school, participating in afterschool activities and auditioning for All State Choir. Following in her footsteps, I too joined choir in elementary school. I took piano lessons in 5th grade. Then,  I started playing saxophone in band in 6th grade, continuing through the rest of middle school. My musical passion only intensified from there.

I loved playing sax so much, I joined marching band and concert band at North Cobb High School. As I further developed my skills performing, I discovered my love for teaching. During my senior year, I would travel to Awtrey Middle School and give lessons to 8th grade saxophonists. When I saw the figurative lightbulb go off in their heads as they understood something, I was hooked! From then on, I wanted to help students find their lightbulb moment by sharing my musical knowledge and experiences. I then decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in music education.

I achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, graduating

on May 7th, 2021. I have trained as a classical and jazz musician, studying saxophone primarily as well as playing piano.

In my last semester at Reinhardt, I completed my Clinical Residency at the band classes at Cherokee High School and Pickens Junior High School. My main focus was providing an enjoyable and well-rounded education to middle and high school band students. I became close with the directors and students at these schools; I learned to play different instruments, created lesson plans, and developed successful teaching strategies. It was amazing to see how I impacted the lives of students in a few short months. Being able to genuinely share my musical appreciation with young musicians is my dream, and I plan on continuing this in the future.

That's not all! I wanted another way to express my love for music other than performing and teaching: composing. It started in high school with transcribing movie scores and Broadway musical songs to sax quartets. When I was enrolled at Reinhardt University, I signed up for composition lessons, where I was given the opportunity to compose many things.

I wrote a piece for flute choir, which I conducted for Reinhardt's annual Contemporary Arts Festival. For my senior recital, I planned an additional unrequired segment where students and staff played my pieces, including a percussion duet, two short piano works, and a woodwind quintet. After graduation, I had the wonderful privilege of playing and working with the Reinhardt Wind Ensemble once again in which they premiered my original circus march. I offer my thanks to the Reinhardt community for providing an enjoyable and challenging environment where I was able to showcase my compositional skills.

I am currently teaching saxophone lessons in Karlsruhe, Germany. I also freelance as a composer/arranger on Fiverr. I am slowly but surely integrating myself in German society by joining the music education and composition scene.
