Work Samples
I created a summative assessment for Cherokee High School's Symphonic Band. They were learning a piece called Furaha!, an African dance meaning 'joy', which was in 5/4 time. I printed small segments of their parts on paper and randomly chose 20 students to play for me in a private space. Based on their skill level on their instrument, I would choose, out of three difficulty levels, which student played what part. The PDF below shows the rubric that I graded them with. The table next to it shows the students' scores.
